The Pendleton Scholarship Team is comprised of Design and Management students at Cornell University who work as a team to replicate the dynamics of a small apparel company. The team conceptualizes, designs, sources, produces, and sells a menswear line showcased at the Cornell Fashion Collective annual show. The line is also exhibited in the Pendleton Woolen Mills Showroom at headquarters in Portland, Oregon, before being sold to consumers. This year’s Pendleton collection takes us on a journey back to days of hiking and archery, nights crammed into small tents by the campfire, and most of all, our unrelenting pride for the uniforms we adorned as Boy Scouts. Drawing inspiration from the Scout’s strong roots in nature, this year’s collection glorifies the 150-year-old Pendleton heritage with an infusion of handcrafted quirkiness and eccentricity. The collection dictated by the interplay of the patterns and colors of Pendleton fabrics, which work seamlessly with the strong silhouettes. It is through this nontraditional lens, with a nod to classic Pendleton tradition, that we bring the modern-day Boy Scout out of the woods and onto the runway.
